Your first time is on us. We want you to experience the difference that is Alternative Athletics. Stop by and see what we are about, why our members can't stop talking about us, and if this is the opportunity you've been looking for. We are located in downtown Billings at 808 4th Avenue North (the big blue door on the right, almost to the Metra).

We are priced to meet your needs.

Initiation Fee - None

Account Hold  / Cancellation Fee - None

Private training by appointment - $100 per hour (must be scheduled ahead of time)
  • Programming and technique training tailored to your individual goals
  • Nutritional advice / accountability
  • Recipes for meal planning and grocery lists
  • Menu suggestions for restaurants around town based on your nutrition style

Small group classes (limited to 6 people) 3 classes per week by appointment - $99 per week / $33 per session (reserved and limited)
  • Trainer guided to help with technique warming up, working out and proper recovery
  • Nutritional advice / accountability
  • Recipes for meal planning and grocery lists
  • Menu suggestions for restaurants around town based on your nutrition style

Unlimited Open Gym - $119 per month or 12 months for $1,309 (one month free)
  • One on one attention in our Fundamental Movement Introduction to help teach proper technique and barbell safety (no extra charge)
  • Trainer oversight during open gym to assist in your workouts
  • General Physical Preparedness programming based on your ability, with descriptions of warm up, workout, cool down.

**We offer discounts for military, law enforcement, government employees and both hospitals.
**We offer a Buddy Program with special rates of just $85 each for you and a friend for the first 6 months.

Online Programming with video descriptions of movements - Free!
  • ​If you have place to work out, but don't know what to do, the programming on Alternative Athletics will always be open to the public.  We want people to live a better life even if we never make a dime!
  • Saturdays from 10 AM to Noon are for the community and open to the public at no charge.  If you want bring a friend or loved one in, or you are visiting from out of town, this is the time to come in.

Bonus: Our goal at Alternative Athletics is not just to get you in the best shape you've ever been in.  We want to set you up with a sustainable lifestyle to keep you on this path.  We do that by surrounding you with the most supportive community you've ever been a part of, expert coaches, workout programming, nutrition advice, while keeping the process fun and addicting.  We want you to be able to enjoy the greatest version of yourself!

The Foundations. The as discussed above with the Open Gym membership, the Foundations Program covers four one-on-one individualized training sessions. (Encourage a friend to join with you and save on membership!) These sessions will teach you the basic lifting movements that make up the daily and individual programming at Alternative Athletics. You will be given personalized instruction on the:

  • Air Squat
  • Back Squat
  • Front Squat
  • Overhead Squat
  • Shoulder Press
  • Push Press
  • Push Jerk
  • Split Jerk
  • Deadlift
  • Clean
  • Snatch
  • Kettlebell Swing

But we don't stop there. As you continue to move through our programming, we will help you develop your skills with the introduction of new movements, and make sure you are comfortable with them. Each movement can be scaled to fit your skill level so that you can complete the programming for the day. Our trainers are available to help you progress at your own pace. If you feel you can demonstrate these movements and the ability to bail out of a bad situation, you can by pass the Foundations by scheduling a 1 hour "BS check" where we will have you demonstrate them in order to get the seal of approval and go straight into the workouts.

​The gym is open from 5:30 am to 7:00 pm on weekdays, if you are an Unlimited Open Gym member you can come in and do the WOD anytime, on your time. We offer time during the weekend on Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
